Chilean blueberries are available from October to April. Chile is one of the largest exporters of blueberries in the world. Chile has 15,601 hectares planted with highbush blueberries. Of these, 17% are organic. Chile has a permanent commitment to the search for new and better varieties to offer an exceptional experience to the consumer in terms of flavor, size and texture. Research and development of new growing, harvesting, packing and transportation technologies will continue to expand the global market for Chilean blueberries.
Nutrition
Blueberries are considered a "superfood" because of their high concentration of nutrients and high antioxidant content, which protect us from free radical damage. Blueberries are naturally fat-free and have only 42 calories per cup. Although low in calories, blueberries are a good source of fiber and an excellent source of vitamin C, providing 16% of the recommended daily allowance.
